Empty Bodies

NICA — 2017

Empty Bodies was a devised contemporary circus work created at the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA), directed by Zebastian Hunter, and premiered in 2016. The performance explored themes of presence and absence through a restrained visual language, combining physical precision with moments of suspension and stillness. Drawing on NICA's rigorous circus training, the piece emphasised the expressive potential of the body in space, using subtle shifts in movement, spatial composition and atmosphere to create a reflective and evocative stage experience.
